Valentine’s Day inspires a lot of work every year. For our Washington piece we wanted to highlight some cheap romantic spots in the city and produce a map. We realised that the Potomac river offered us a great opportunity to frame our map in a heart shape and the roads and tributaries could be made to look like veins and arteries. We used a watercolour style illustration to give the piece some lightness and colour.
