In the summer of 2015 Fáilte commissioned artist James Earley to produce a mural in the docklands area of Dublin. They wanted to produce something that brightened up the area and provided a focal point for visitors. They also wanted to build interest in the piece while it was being produced and bring the audience into the experience.
Huskies were asked to create a video piece around this work and promote it through digital channels. To do this we researched James and his family background in stained glass design and came up with a narrative around this change from traditional ecclesiastical art into modern street art design. We produced two blog pieces to help tell James’ story and give an insight into his process. We also created some teaser posts for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that helped create interest while the piece was being produced. We also used Periscope to live stream portions of the painting so that people could get a feel for how James works.

Thanks to Michael Whelan who worked with me on this piece. Thanks also to Maeve Heslin and Colm Cusack as well as the guys in Event Junkies.
