In 2017 Fyffes chose Temple Street Children’s Hospital as their nominated charity. To celebrate this and to also tie in with Banana Day (April 19th) we decided to create a special event that would raise awareness of the cause and get people talking about Banana Day.
Our idea was to create a unique pop-up delivery service in collaboration with Just Eat. We worked with innovative chef Kevin Powell to devise a banana themed menu that our customers could order from on the day with all the proceeds going to Temple Street.
We also set up a simple Text-to-Donate number so people outside of the delivery area could still contribute to this worthy cause.
Around the event we produced videos and other social content, leaflets for food drops, digital display, print advertisements and did outreach via PR and influencers.
Overall the day was a huge success with plans to expand Banana Day next year and try to get more people involved so we can create a truly national celebration.
